Inaugural Flags of Valor - Manchester Remembers 9/11 Event

In partnership with the City of Manchester, the inaugural Flags of Valor – Manchester Remembers 9/11 event will be held in the City of Manchester, Sept. 9 -15 at the Margaret A. Stoecker Park.

The installation will honor the 412 First Responders who valiantly gave up their lives in the quest to rescue the men and women injured and trapped in the 9/11 terrorist attack.

Each medic, firefighter and police officer will be recognized through a photo paired with a 3’ x 5’ flag to recognize and honor their life and to hold fast to the promise never to forget the heroes from the largest terrorist attack on American soil. A special flag will be flown to recognize the approximately 350 First Responders who have since died from 9/11-related illnesses. The display will also include six large boards with pictures and information on each of the civilian victims who were killed in the 9/11 attacks.

Building a Place for Remembrance: Brinkmann Constructors Supports Flags of Valor

The most meaningful places are not always built with walls. Sometimes they are created through shared purpose, careful preparation and the belief that remembering matters.

As a Field of Honor Sponsor of the 2026 Flags of Valor Memorial, Brinkmann Constructors is helping create a place where thousands of people can gather to honor lives lost on September 11 and U.S. service members lost in the War on Terror. Their support helps make it possible for Art Hill to be transformed by thousands of American flags, each connected to an individual name and story.

The memorial is the result of countless moving parts. Brinkmann’s volunteers helped assemble the flags and made a significant donation – two meaningful contributions that helped bring this extraordinary tribute to life. We are deeply grateful for their time, generosity and commitment to ensuring every hero is remembered. Sponsors provide the resources that allow those efforts to become one powerful, unified experience. Brinkmann’s commitment helps give that work a strong foundation.

From September 5 through 13, 2026, visitors will be invited to walk among the flags, learn about the people they represent and reflect on the courage, service and sacrifice that have shaped the past 25 years. For Gold Star Families and loved ones, the field offers something even more personal: a visible reminder that their hero is remembered by an entire community.

We are honored to recognize Brinkmann Constructors for standing with Flags of Valor and helping build a memorial where remembrance can take root. Their generosity is part of every row, every quiet conversation and every moment of reflection that will take place on Art Hill.

Sponsor a Flag. Honor a Hero.

The flag is a symbol of freedom, unity and sacrifice. You or your organization can do your part to honor the fallen by sponsoring these three by five-foot pieces of the fabric of our nation. When you sponsor a flag, you’re not just supporting a memorial. You’re honoring a life. Donations of $50 or more are randomly assigned a fallen hero and a flag on Art Hill. You’ll receive their name, rank, branch, and flag location so you can learn their story before you visit. From September 5–13, you can walk the field and find their flag. A moment that turns remembrance into something deeply personal. This is now your hero to remember.
