Inaugural Flags of Valor - Manchester Remembers 9/11 Event

In partnership with the City of Manchester, the inaugural Flags of Valor – Manchester Remembers 9/11 event will be held in the City of Manchester, Sept. 9 -15 at the Margaret A. Stoecker Park.

The installation will honor the 412 First Responders who valiantly gave up their lives in the quest to rescue the men and women injured and trapped in the 9/11 terrorist attack.

Each medic, firefighter and police officer will be recognized through a photo paired with a 3’ x 5’ flag to recognize and honor their life and to hold fast to the promise never to forget the heroes from the largest terrorist attack on American soil. A special flag will be flown to recognize the approximately 350 First Responders who have since died from 9/11-related illnesses. The display will also include six large boards with pictures and information on each of the civilian victims who were killed in the 9/11 attacks.

From those who have been wounded physically or mentally in battle to the Gold Star Families who have lost loved ones, we support organizations that provide assistance, scholarships, direct funding and resources. It’s the least we can do to show the members of our armed forces, law enforcement and their families how much we understand the value of the freedoms they protect.

Funds generated from our efforts are donated to a select group of not-for-profit organizations that align closely with the mission of America’s Heartland Remembers and Flags of Valor:

Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. – Missouri Chapter 4

Blue Star Mothers Missouri Chapter 4 is made up of mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, foster mothers, and female legal guardians of those who serve - or have served - in the U.S. Military, National Guard, or Reserves. United by that bond, the chapter offers unwavering support to one another and to their children while promoting patriotism. From the beginning, the organization has remained steadfast in its mission - and will never forsake our troops, our veterans, or the families of our fallen heroes.

The Flagman’s Mission Continues

The Flagman’s Mission Continues exists to honor the service, lives, and sacrifices of those who wear the uniform. This includes recognizing those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and educating the public through patriotic events, flag etiquette programming, and ceremonial honors at civic, military, and community events. Their mission spans generations and backgrounds - serving all Americans regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, or sexual orientation - with a deep respect for country and those who protect it.

Greater St. Louis Honor Flight

To honor St. Louis area veterans, Greater St. Louis Honor Flight provides them with an all-inclusive trip to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorial built in their honor. Most of these veterans are in their 80s and 90s and lack the physical and mental wherewithal to complete a trip on their own. Their families and friends often lack the resources and time necessary to complete the trip to our nation’s capital. The annual trip is a cherished memory for veterans and their families.

Patriot Training Foundation

The Patriot Training Foundation provides advanced tactical and leadership training - free of charge - to regional law enforcement officers and individuals preparing for military service. Their programs enhance readiness, improve safety, and often fill critical gaps left by department budget shortfalls. The Foundation plays a vital role in preparing these public servants to succeed in their missions and return home safely.

Got Your Six Support Dogs

Got Your Six Support Dogs is a dedicated 501(c)(3) organization committed to serving America's heroes in their time of need. They provide specialized, life-changing service dogs to veterans and first-responders who are courageously battling post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and/or sexual trauma. Recognizing that even heroes need support, the mission of "Got Your Six" is to help these brave men and women regain their lives and independence through the healing power of a loyal canine partner. This vital work provides a new sense of hope and purpose to those who have sacrificed so much for our country and communities.

Sponsor a Flag. Honor a Hero.

The flag is a symbol of freedom, unity and sacrifice. You or your organization can do your part to honor the fallen by sponsoring these three by five-foot pieces of the fabric of our nation. When you sponsor a flag, you’re not just supporting a memorial. You’re honoring a life. Donations of $50 or more are randomly assigned a fallen hero and a flag on Art Hill. You’ll receive their name, rank, branch, and flag location so you can learn their story before you visit. From September 5–13, you can walk the field and find their flag. A moment that turns remembrance into something deeply personal. This is now your hero to remember.
